Welding
Welding Technology Year 1
Time: 12:15-1:35 P.M. OR 1:45-3:05 P.M.
Location: SCI Center
Length: Full Year
Instructor: Matthew Belusko
Courses:
Welding 110–Intro to Welding-Prerequisite Course
Welding 130–Shielded Arc Welding I
Welding 135-Blueprint Reading
Certification: These are dual credit classes through LLCC. Students who complete each of the courses in the 2 year period will receive a Shielded Metal Arc Welding Certificate from Lincoln Land Community College.
This pathway is designed to provide students with an understanding of arc welding fundamentals, welding safety, arc welding machines, electrode classifications and electrode selection. Students learn skills that are necessary to make high quality shielded metal arc welds in the flat and horizontal positions utilizing single and multiple-pass fillet and groove welds. Students are also introduced to oxyacetylene cutting.
Welding Technology Year 2
Time: 8:00-9:00 A.M.
Location: SCI Center
Length: Full Year
Instructor: Matthew Belusko
Courses:
Welding 140-Shielded Arc Welding II
Welding 145-Gas Metal Arc Welding
Certification: These classes are dual credit through LLCC and are designed to provide students with an understanding of advanced arc welding fundamentals, welding safety, arc welding machines, electrode classifications, and electrode selection. Students learn skills that are necessary to make high quality shielded arc metal welds in the vertical and overhead positions utilizing single and multiple pass fillet and groove welds. Welding 145 is an introduction to gas metal arc welding (GMAW). Short circuit transfer is utilized in the flat, horizontal, and vertical positions. Students are also introduced to pulse spray transfer methods.
